Comma! Exclamation Mark!
Beautifully sunny and mild today so I put the macro lens on and Mishka and I went hunting for bugs. I was pleased when I captured a soldier fly and a tiny spider. Later we got a ladybird.
What a surprise after lunch. A comma butterfly! I wasn't able to get that close before it closed its wings and then flew. These butterflies can be seen at any time of year when the weather is mild but they don't usually emerge from hibernation until March. The earliest that I've blipped one in the past is 9th March. Today has been the warmest January day ever in the UK. In Kinlochhewe, a village in the Highlands of Scotland, a temperature of 19.6C was recorded..
