fox on soil and soil on socks

A couple of days ago the movement in the corner.of my eye from the backyard turned out to be a fox, carrying what looked like a parsnip. It came down the steps from the drive, peered briefly at the flowerbed next to the garage, but then appeared to wander off round the side or over the fence into the neighbour's garden. This looks like the same one, but was hopefully just lurking temporarily rather than making plans to nest here for any prolonged time, as I don't fancy stepping in any fox shite on my way to and from the garage.
