Chariots of fire.

The Newburgh on Ythan SlugFest 2013 is taking the form of a Highland Games. The gathering started on June 7th with the traditional evening of Scottish Country dancing.

Slugs aren't the fastest creatures in the world and so inevitably things are dragging on rather. The tossing of the caber took for ever and the hill race, which involves 26 circuits of a vertical compost bin lid, is now in its 5th day and there is still no clear leader in sight. We expect the race to finish sometime in July. Exciting, isn't it?
