Castles on the beach

Early this morning M and l went down  to the beach area, l was looking for some pied stilts to photograph but the tide was too far out.  I did get this rather magnificent stick house which was built out on the sand spit though.
Later on we met up with  blippers Miffy and Mac for a fun day.  First we went up the Riwaka Valley road until we came to the source of the river, a stunningly clear pool, cool on a hot summers day.
Later we ventured out to Marahau where we stopped for a delicious pizza and more chat.  The trip was rounded off with stops at Kaiteriteri and an area called the Kumaras.  It was a public holiday today so lots of people out having fun in the sea.  I read the sky is so blue in the lower latitudes such as New Zealand and Tasmania because it has some of the cleanest air in the world as it travels over large expenses of cold ocean.

Thank you Miffy and Mac for the delish pizza and company.
