Winter Seaview

Lunch on the Isle of Wight with Penny and Vince, Jonathan, a local friend, joined us and we brought over pate and chocolate cherry cake.  Looking out at the beautiful blue sea as we ate we fooled ourselves into thinking we were stepping into a summer’s day. It was in fact quite cold walking down the beach and over into Priory Bay. But it was still and beautiful and both dogs scampered through the waves.

A lovely day though and sitting in their sun-trap garden before lunch, one could think spring was on the way. 

Hovercraft there and back, we were quizzed gently about our likely spend on the island as part of a visitor survey about our trip.  We said we were visiting friends for lunch so probably nothing.    ‘Oh well’, she said hopefully, ‘maybe you’ll get an ice-cream later…’
