Diary of an Edinburgher

DAY TWENTY. ONE (Adelaide)

This morning the two keen walkers went off for an early walk round the city, and yes, when the shops opened, they did some shopping. It's great that JR has a walking companion for this visit, as she's pretty restricted with just me.

We got an Uber to Jan and Gaz's house in the northern beachy suburbs. Their house is a big old rambling gem. Loads of space inside, and outside, with Gaz having a huge man cave full of tools and projects. Jan has a studio, and continues with her painting/drawing projects. (She did our big painting many years ago - see extra).

We had a lovely morning tea with them, and the connections kept coming eg Jan had a solo exhibition many decades ago in Gill's father's gallery in Tauranga. It was such a treat to see them after so many years.

We caught the train back into town, and walked back from there, though we had to have a cafe/lunch stop. It's only about 27° today, and if you stay in the shade, which is always possible in cities, then it's just about manageable. Gill wanted to have a go on a scooter, but her card was declined. (Her bank didn't know she was in Addles). Pity, I was hoping some action shots...

The fit folk have gone out again, but I stayed in the apartment, watching Robert Irwin catching a koala. Later, the others popped out to get a takeaway and we had our supper on our balcony in the evening sunlight. The end of another great day in Addles...
