A Goat’s Song

I’m not sure how I haven’t come across this book before but in the words of the great James Kelman “it’s a beautiful piece of work, the real stuff”. Written by Dermot Healy it seems to have become a bit of an Irish classic tbs. At times very dark telling tales of love, religion and alcoholism. I’m glad it had the love in it or it might have been a tad depressing…after reading religious turmoil in Israel and Ireland I think I need a fun non religious book next!
