View of Edinburgh From Calton Hill

A nice walk around the park in the morning to get the time lapse of the trees in the local park (Extra). Very sunny and only a hint of cloud. Did a bit of photo editing from Friday as I didn't have time.

In the afternoon, it was down to the city centre. My sister has come across from the Netherlands with her family, she has twin girls, for a short trip to Scotland. One of my nieces is studying Forensics at university, and she is spending a few months at Abertay University to do a 'minor' course on a branch of Forensics. Today was a visit Edinburgh day. By the time I met them, they had visited the Castle and the Old Town. There seems to be no off season for tourism anymore in Edinburgh, even in January it was pretty busy, even at 'Hidden Gems' which are widely publicised on Instagram. As the weather was holding, I took them up Calton Hill so they could get a good view of the city. The main viewpoint for photos from Calton Hill was very busy, so my blip is set back a bit from there. But of course I can point out the Scottish Parliament building, Holyrood Palace, the rest of the Royal Mile which they won't have time to visit, and Arthur's Seat, which seemed very busy indeed. We were then off for afternoon coffee before departing (cats have to be fed).

In the evening, we met up again for a meal, early-ish (6:30 for logistical reasons, niece 1 needed to get back to Dundee that night and niece 2 as flying back to the Netherlands early Sunday morning) at a well known (for the UK) pizza chain restaurant.
