Shot-glass Souvenir

After serving 20 years in the Air Force, my husband has a myriad of souvenirs of his travels, some of them shot-glasses.  This one came from Bavaria and depicts Schloss Linderhof, the smallest of the three castles King Ludwig II ever lived in (and the only one to be finished) during his reign which began in1864 and ended with his death in 1886.  He was also known as the Swan King or the Fairytale King----and sometimes as Mad King Ludwig, because he did odd things.  Thanks to Steveng for hosting and for this challenge in which I have learned more trivia to add to the stash I already carry around in my brain......
