Catch up call with VG first thing to follow up from Friday’s meetings, then walked down to town for a (different) Board meeting and another, lower key, AGM. Clearly some progress with the builder and met a new fundraiser, so a good meeting, and further chat afterwards with AC.
Walked home…starting to be a bit drizzly…and did some catch up admin and pootled a bit before over to MH’s for book group. We’d read Wrong Way by Joanne McNeil, a near future tale of ‘self drive’ cars that had a slim human secreted in the roof to drive them. Those who’d read it mostly enjoyed it but I found it very hard to relate to the narrator and empathise with her so it never really took off for me.
We had a lovely evening…the house decked out with tartan and a homemade veggie haggis made into a sort of shepherd’s pie following smoked fish and cheeses, then tablet and chocolate to round it off. We missed our ‘regional members’ (LauraM and Winsford) but chatted on about holidays, HR, wills, bathroom renovations and our usual eclectic mix of topics. Raining when we all left, and I had to park quite a way away from home and walk the last bit.
