Bean Point, where the birds outnumber the people!
Thursday 25 January
We spent several hours on the beach, late morning/early afternoon, and took our usual walk along the beach to Bean Point, the northern tip of the island, where there is a huge expanse of sand, usually populated by more birds than people, today, mainly Royal terns, with a few gulls and Fosters terns mixed in. It seemed an unusually low tide today, creating long pools of water along the beach. Since it was a reasonable warm evening, we went for an early dinner at Tide Tables, a casual fish place we enjoy, across the bridge in Cortez. Seating is mainly outside, and it makes a great place to watch the sunset. I’ve added extras from the beach and from Tide Tables.
I’ve posted two entries tonight, so please check out yesterday’s Sunset from Venice Pier.
