Ashes of Kirkby Lonsdale

We had a very nice and relaxed day, today.

We hung around in the morning for the miniMinx to resurface, as she's only around for the one night, and then headed up to Kirkby Lonsdale.

In anticipation of visiting my colleague Steve and his partner in their new house, this evening, we strolled down into town, looking for a housewarming present.

While the Minx was in the florists, I had a nosey at this shop, which seems particularly ill-fated for the businesses that occupy it. There's a beautiful old iron door on front, although I guess you can't make it out from my photo. I'd love to know how old it is.

(On my brother's recommendation, I've been reading my way through Andrew Taylor's 'Ashes Of London' book, which has only aggravated my sense of wanting to know the history of the places around me.)
