Sue, her son and a lot of 'Hope'

In between Tbilisi (the restaurant) and Highgate (the place) is a Workers' Cafe called 'The Hope'. Owned by Chris and Sue Anayiotou it's a post of warm humanity on the Holloway Road. (Extras)

Championed by many including  The Guardian's Jay Rayner, they started a 'Pay it forward' scheme during the pandemic. This is a way of paying for a meal for someone who is homeless or has fallen on hard times. A lot of cafe's do this with coffee, but it's not the same as a meal.

I popped in to say hello and pay for a couple of meals on my way to the dentist.

I will come back and have a fry up when my fillings have hardened!
