Giant Kingfisher

I have heard the call of this bird for days, but until today I haven't seen him. Today was my lucky day as I saw him stretched out on my neighbour's roof top. He was obviously feeling the heat. He is a regular visitor to a nearby pond where he can have his fill of Tilapia. Such a lovely bird, and I think the largest of the Kingfisher family.
It's been another extremely hot day. Penni arrived this afternoon which was wonderful so there is much chatting and laughing this evening.
BIL and SIL stayed here last night and it was good to see them again.
I just wish we could have cooler weather.....
