The Herbaceous Border
After a holiday, no matter how exciting or interesting it may have been, it's always so nice to come home and renew your acquaintance with all the lovely, familiar things in your own neighbourhood. This is part of one of the herbaceous borders in our local park only a few yards from where we live. We have some very talented gardeners working for our council and they make sure that we have wonderful displays to enjoy each season, except perhaps winter. The lupins came into bloom while we were away and make a lovely show. My Granny used to grow huge banks of lupins in her garden, giving great wafts of glorious colour. I tried to grow lupins. Once. All I got was greenfly!!
