Colombia Road Flower Market

After a good nights sleep to recover from the 24hr London shoot and armed with some local knowledge I found myself out in the real East End at the Colombia Road Flower Market.

This colourful street market takes place every Sunday and is dedicated to the selling of flowers and plants of every size and hue. The road is lined with the stalls of the market traders some of whom have been there for generations. There is a wonderful cosmopolitan atmosphere with the banter of the stall holders selling their wares plus street performers and buskers entertaining the crowds. Behind the stalls are rows of small old fashioned shops selling everything from antiques, artwork , bric- a- brac and several small cafes.

I spent several happy hours soaking up the atmosphere before heading back to the hotel for a hot bath and an early night.
