Sunny walk

I looked after Simone for part of the afternoon, starting with a brisk walk after lunch, while she napped in the baby sling. She cried in protest for a bit, when we set off, but soon dropped off (she really was tired).
There's a small area of mixed woodland opposite Jack and Marianna's house, an ideal spot for a quiet walk. I used the Merlin phone app a few times to identify the birds I could hear but not see. This was great fun. Robins dominated, but there were great tits, blue tits and long-tailed tits too.
Later - when rested - Simone was cheery and playful. At nearly 8 months, she's just beginning to get interested in trying to move... it won't be long, I think, before she works out how to shuffle along on her bum.
