In February?

In Ontario? Snowdrops? There must be some mistake! But then, we do have green lawns right now; that was shocking enough..but flowers? Really? Is this climate change? 

I had been at our Book Club meeting at Sandy's house in a town about a 30 minute drive north of us. They still had some snow up there..not a blanket, but the hefty remains of snow - lurking on lawns and piled high in heaps left by snowplows after the latest storm...and from what I remember, there was not a single flower in sight up there!  So those snowdrops were quite a surprise!

The book up for discussion today was Fire Weather a non-fiction account of the Fort McMurray wildfire a few years ago and how it was connected to our use of fossil fuels and climate change. Much food for thought in THAT book! We all agreed that it was an excellent book that entertained but also made us think..

After our lunch and discussion, we attended "Tea and Books" at Sandy's local library where one of the librarians selects and promotes about 4-5 books to an audience of avid readers..primarily women...not sure why such a thing does not appeal to men...hmmmm...Anyway, the list this month was:

The Art Thief: A Trues Story of Love, Crime and a Dangerous Obsession, by Michael Finley

I had read Small Things LikeThese  but the others were new to me...We selected The Art Thief  for our book club list for next fall...(we look forward to learning how to steal priceless art from a museum with nothing but a Swiss Army knife)
