A moment of calm for one young person in the business of den building. Very lovely to see this group at least trying to work in teams and a couple really stretching themselves to try new things.

Sadly we ended on a tricky with some fairly difficult dysregulsted behaviour from one which broke the already slightly wary relationship between them and the rest of the group. Group away safely, leaving  us a very nervy 2 hours of de-escalation / damage minimisation slightly too close to the A9 for comfort. All safe and sorted with much paperwork for all to follow.

Very very aware that some young people have huge amounts of difficulties, trauma and complications that they shouldnt have to bear and no doubt impact how they behave in so many ways.  I'm in no doubt also that the type and amount of media young people access is an influence too though. 
There has been a marked language shift in the past few years. The aggression, explicitness and intolerance displayed is horrific. Like uncomfortable to repeat when recording incidents.
It used to be just the odd few but it seems to be a most days thing now, from younger kids too. It's much more complicated than 'social media' or 'the internet' but there's definitely a pattern
