Inside the Peel Tower

A surprise start to the day, when I drew the curtains in the living room a small light brown rat scampered to and fro. Too fast, and me too slow to get a photo. And on the way to station I spotted a dipper. I reported the former to the Factor. Perhaps their rodent management program is not excessive after all.

I had various concerns about todays walk all which proved unfounded and we all had a great ramble around the Castle Semple Trail. The new Boardwalk out to the previously inaccessible Peel Tower was very popular and as a huge bonus there was a ranger checking something out and she invited us to climb over the fence for an unofficial guided tour of the interior. We marvelled at the fireplaces and the fine spiral staircase.
Back to the RSPB reserve and the return train to Glasgow. To be repeated on Wednesday.
