Loch Arklet
We have had such a pleasant day......
It was sunny although cold this morning, and we drove to Stronachlachar. It is a fabulous drive, particularly the one way road from Aberfoyle, along Lochs Ard, Chon and Arklet.
The Pier Cafe at Stronachlachar is a destination, for cyclists, cars and also for the boat which sails up Loch Katrine. We had booked an afternoon tea there as we had been given at voucher at Christmas. It was really lovely, and served by such nice staff too. There was a glass of wine for me, and some soft drink for Bob, three beautiful sandwiches, a half of small pork pie, some salad, scones and cakes. I have put an extra on so you can see it.
As we drove back I became aware of the cast iron mile posts, which were positioned every mile on the eleven mile route to Aberfoyle. They were probably put there in Victorian times when the Loch Katrine water scheme was built, which gave the city of Glasgow clean water. I have put one as an extra.
We managed home in time to see the second half of the Scotland/Wales rugby..... nail biting stuff..... you have to be tough to support Scotland..... but they won by one point......great game and great result.
