Blue Jay
Blue Jay Facts:
1. They are cousins of the Crow. Both are in the Corvidae family.
2. They are monogamous.
3. They have a complex social system.
4. They're mimic experts.
5. They are tool users.
6. They're wonderful communicators.
7. They live longer lives compared to other birds.
8. They aren't the fastest flyers.
9. They often store food for later.
10. They aren't really blue! The pigment in a jay's feathers, called melanin, is brown but because of 'light scattering' (similar to a prism's effect) we see it as blue.
