My, what colourful eyes you have

Found this chap in the laundry today.  Seems he'd flown in through the back door to have a nosey at the new look but then couldn't get himself out again.  Silly boy thought he could fly through glass.

The envounter of course summoned the camera and it was when I chimped the first few shots I noticed his magnificent eyes.  Quite amazing.  Still, after the photo shoot I out him out of his misery by  opening the window and giving him a wee push in the right direction.  All good.

I have no idea what kind of fly/bug he is so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very interested to know.
