Making Bacon
This morning W and I met up with Bom to do the Bayfield Bird Walk. A very pleasant walk if a bit muddy in places. Not many people around but we saw a few pheasants and could hear and smell the pigs before we reached their field; not a bad smell and certainly not strong, but definitely there. I liked the way they had decided that the best way to get the food out of their trough was to stand in it, and the one at the front had clearly satisfied the bottom two levels of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs and was well into the third level.
We stopped for a coffee at the Natural Surroundings cafe in the woods. They have a breeding programme for Field Mice so lots of them are visible in well stocked glass tanks. They aren't easy to photograph and I couldn't get a decent shot through the glass but Bom has got a lovely shot of one of them on her blip.
