Musselburgh races

Our good friends' son was 30 last month and instead of a party (which seems to be a thing now for 30ths) he opted to have a day at the races and invited us along. The local course's season doesn't start until April so Musselburgh was the venue. The only racing I've been to in recent years has been in a volunteering capacity with Maggie's so it's a long, long time since I bet on a horse. My plan today was to have a small bet on each race and with a couple of wins I managed to break even. I know nothing about horse racing and even less about betting but I had a thoroughly good day, as did the birthday boy.
