In The News

Too much politics. Too much war.
Too much of everything.
We've heard it all before.

Too much conjecture? Too much sport?
Too much misery.
Here's another grim report.

There's too much brexit
- yes, we know,
a big mistake.

And there's too much murder.
Corruption! Horror!
Rape!

And there's too much Putin.
But not enough
hope.

It's all getting too much.
However do we
cope?

There's too much Sunak.
And too much
Trump.

Disaster follows disaster.
Is our world
really such a dump?

But just before the weather
(Flooding! Heatwaves! Gales!)
here's a lovely story,

the sort that never fails,
to raise a smile and banish
all those gory vile details:

A missing one-eyed cat was reunited with its owners
after they spotted him on a news programme.
Mike and Marilyn Chard from Plymouth, south Devon,
feared the worst when Tigger failed to come home.
Three months later, while settling down to watch
BBC Spotlight, the couple spotted Tigger in the arms
of a manager at a local animal shelter.

Tigger is now back home.
He’s purring all the time,” said Mr Chard.
It took four or five hours of being back here
before he got used to where he was.
I think he’s just about back to normal.”
Tigger has now been microchipped.
