Titanic Hotel Drawing Office Bar

This is the Drawing Office bar at the Titanic Hotel Belfast. It was previously a derelict room, left that way from the 1900s, and formerly used by the draftsmen of Harland & Wolff. The hotel opened on 10th September 2017, and is located in the former headquarters of Harland & Wolff, builders of the Titanic.

The Drawing Office is in the earliest part of these historic buildings, and dates from the 1880s. Over the following 100 years this area played an important part in the design of many of the world’s most famous ocean liners.

Today we watched an episode of the Antiques Road Show, shot in this room in 2009 when the room was still very rough around the edges, and unpainted.

Half-hotel, half-museum, the building is now home to an original collection of over 500 artworks, artefacts and photographs transporting us back to the 'Golden Age of Ocean Travel'.

In the extra you can see how the room used to look.
