Midweek Mellowness
A very quietly productive Wednesday with a tiny flicker of snow this morning which stopped almost as soon as it started.
Lower pain today. I was up at my usual time and decided to finish off some life admin and had a bit of a mini decluttering session and caught up with some housework.
I have been keeping a pain, sleep, food, mood etc journal since the beginning of the week and finding it useful.
I have learned to pace myself with housework since I have been ill and try to do a little on a regular basis.
This afternoon, I had my gas boiler serviced. The engineers were incredibly pleasant and efficient and had the service completed in well under an hour, interlinked fire alarms tested and a new carbon monoxide detector fitted.
It was very chilly here today but I prefer that to the rain which always results in higher fibromyalgia pain. I wrapped up well and went for a short walk to pick up a bottle of water.
Coffee break (today’s Blip, my mug with a good Scottish saying) and a bit of Jamaica Ginger cake, a rest, tackled my plastic and paper recycling. I am passionate about recycling but as a spoonie, I do find it a rather relentless and physically demanding chore but worth it for the environment.
This evening, I spent a couple of hours listening to music, doing a good few music lessons on Duolingo and a little singing for relaxation.
I scored full marks on two songs which I was pleased with as I have been practicing a lot and it seems to be paying off. I find music so therapeutic and a wonderful chronic pain distraction.
Having missed yesterday’s lesson, I did a Ukrainian lesson too and scored 75% - I’m making good progress but very much still a beginner!
I hope you have all had a wonderful Wednesday, keep warm :)
