Muscovy Duck

I don't know the first thing about ducks. Half the time, I'm not sure if I'm looking at a duck or a goose. The internet tells me this is most likely a Muscovy Duck, and of course, the internet is always right. :)

Anyway, I went to the park hoping to put my new 70-300mm zoom lense to good use, and this little guy let me get pretty close... thankfully without attacking me. Ducks around these parts have been known to take down men much larger than myself, or so I hear. Of course, if he did attack, I was going to be just fine...I had on my extra special Nike running shoes and I was prepared to use them.

I was around this duck for 5 or 6 minutes, and not once did that little piece of grass move. I'm thinking he had no idea it was there. Kind of like having a little bit of sauce on your chin 2 hours after you ate that spaghetti dinner. Not that that has ever happened to me.
