Preston Tower
Today’s blip is Preston Tower in nearby Prestonpans.
The tower was built in the 1460s and has had a fairly turbulent past, which has included being burnt out a few times, most recently by Oliver Cromwell in 1650.
Anyway, the tower and the gardens are nearing the end of a restoration, and are looking good I have to say, well done to Historic Scotland.
It was rather cold wandering around, only being 4 degrees Celsius, however, at least we have not been blanketed by snow like some other parts of the country.
Here’s hoping you are having a good Thursday.
