Day 039/24. The Dark (and Light) Side of the Moon

Museum of the Moon inside Winchester Cathedral.
Measuring seven metres in diameter, the moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface.
This is a touring artwork 'Museum of the Moon' by talented UK artist Luke Jerram. This large-scale installation has been circling the globe, lighting up spaces from Bilbao to Beijing, including abbeys and swimming pools, exciting and inspiring visitors along the way.
Already experienced by over 20 million people worldwide, the moon has finally arrived in Winchester for the very first time. It was dubbed as one of the  National History Museum’s most popular exhibits of all time, after 2 million+ visitors congregated there to appreciate its beauty.
