The raddish are fiery and delicious,
the strawberries are just on the turn and their heady scent is everywhere
the beans are flowering
and the salad has a crunch to deafen giants' ears
What a season this should be. I am filled with excitement at the possibilities and recipes are running through my head constantly. I fear this will be another year where my love of food will outweigh my love of that beach body I crave - avert your eyes this will not be pleasant.
I sat outside the National Gallery today, relaxing and taking in the throng of tourists that make their way up North. The traditional pipers were in prime location and belting out the tunes, Scotland the Brave, A Hundred Pipers, The Dark Island and my favourite A Scottish Soldier. I wasn't aware of the little tear trickling down my face until it dripped. Aw I truly am Scottish and proud it would seem.
I have sat here long enough now willing it to rain (sorry). Alas it's just not going to so I must away and sprinkle joy and encouragement over my little darlings at the allotment.
Thank you so much for all your kind words since my last posting - my time at the computer is limited and I will try harder this time round. As hopefully the image suggests, I am returning, but it may just be slowly.
