Dodecatheon jeffreyi
Jeffrey or Sierra Shooting Star. A very common shooting star species in the Sierra Nevada, growing at 2,000-10,000 feet. The primarily North American genus, Dodecatheon, contains 14 species of "nodding" flowers, whose stamens protrude from colorful backward-bending petals. Outside Curry Village.
