Heart and Thistle

After a haircut this morning I walked into St Giles to see the installation “Heart”. Visitors are invited to post encouraging messages onto a pillar. More on the Heart tomorrow.

While there I popped into the Chapel of the Order of the Thistle (see extra). The Order was founded in its current form in 1687 and has a 16 member limit. The wood carving and ceiling are very ornate but built in 1911.)

Walking back I saw queues of far more than 16 outside Chinese supermarkets, reminding me that it is the Chinese New Year tomorrow.
