M8 Upgrade

I cycle over the A8 on my way to and from work, and work has just started on the A8 to M8 upgrade. The upgrade of nearly seven miles of the A8 dual carriageway between Baillieston and Newhouse will complete the M8 motorway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

In this blip, taken at the Shawhead flyover, they seem to be preparing the ground. I'm not sure of the detail, but I imagine there's going to be a bridge or flyover somewhere here, so this could be foundation work.

Anyway, I'll blip a few more pictures as work progresses.
