End of an Era
Today Lucy walked away from teaching. A job that she has always wanted to do since she was young but the past year has been tough, in particularly since September when two new heads took over. If I say she is signing a non disclosure which includes a data breach, I think you can probably work out for yourself how bad things were.
An end of an era because the school has been part of our family since 1992 when Lucy joined in reception class, followed by all her siblings in later years and in 1999 I joined as a TA. Mr C and I were both governors with Mr C being Chair for many, many years until he ‘retired’ from his post last year. Josh also worked there. First as a stand in caretaker and then decided to become a 1:1 TA. This was his stepping stone into teaching and now teaches P.E throughout my current school and hopes to take a course next year to get fully qualified. As you can see one of more of us in the family have been at the school for the last 32 years. What is really sad is the way it has all ended.
I’m hoping she remains positive and is able to get some form of employment VERY soon.
Another late blip of some lovely tulips she received.
