I have known this woman for only two years as she and I joined the Midlands Women Hikers about the same time. She is always so bright and colorful, has a big laugh and is always ready for doing things like climbing on fallen trees to strike a yoga pose or jump next to a tree off the trail to get in a photo.

I love her spirit. And her accent!

Indie is from Sarajevo and lived through some terrible times. She immigrated to Texas with her husband and other family members but somehow ended up here.

She just celebrated the birth of her first grandchild. This summer she and all her family (about 12 people) are returning to Sarajevo to visit her mother. She is excited and her excitement abounds when she talks about the trip.

It is such a joy to be with her on a trail walk.
