Cromwell’s Bridge

Spanning the river Hodder near Hurst Green, built 1562. Oliver Cromwell held a war council at the bridge on his way to the battle of Preston. Early walk, followed by a swim at Clitheroe and a quick walk round the shops. Paid for Wills bike rebuild, will collect Tuesday and drop mine off. Bought some hedging whips and spent a couple of happy hours planting them. Got very muddy - even for me. Tired after unaccustomed digging of very wet soil.
