Mud galore
Got ourselves up and ready for the Basingstoke parkrun. I wore my 50 shirt for the first time.... it was my 54th. It was drizzly and wet as we set off towards the park. The course takes in a football field that was already pretty muddy and sticky before 500 people had run round it. The second lap was treacherous with several people I saw losing their feet and ending up in the mud. I took it very cautiously and made it to the end. Definitely a slower pace than usual but fun anyway.
Shower at the hotel followed by instant porridge and a banana. Went to see the new exhibition at the museum on Calleva atrebatum. It's a roman town now completely buried under fields with just a few walls and a circular amphitheatre left to walk round. The university of Reading have been excavating there for a long time and most of our archaeology students get their dig experience there in the summer. Some lovely exhibits.
Home for lunch. Helped T make cakes for the Super bowl tomorrow.
More crochet in front of the TV.
