Failed quarter peal

We had some visitors today so we were able to ring nine of the ten bells. After the service, we attempted a quarter peal but unfortunately, after about 700 changes, half an hour in, the treble ringer in red, for some reason, did not catch her sally and lost control of her bell. It was unfortunate as we were ringing the quarter peal for the benefit of our visitors and it would have been the 50th rung in the tower since the bells were installed four years ago. In the afternoon, I had a late invitation to hit some balls with two of our players who have been injured or unwell. We had a good session, but my friend who has been suffering from vertigo for three months, is still feeling the effects and was quite frustrated that he still cannot play properly. David , our best player, on the other hand, was able to play for an hour and a half without any problem. He has a muscular and joint problem which restricts his play unfortunately. He was very pleased to be able to play for so long.
