Derwent Dam

A trip out into the Peak District this morning.  This is the Derwent Dam on the Upper Derwent Reservoir which is currently overflowing due to all the recent rain.  The other side of this dam will be familiar to anyone who knows the film 'The Dam Busters' as it was used for filming some of the scenes.

Afterwards we headed to the David Mellor studio and shop at Hathersage.  A dangerous place to visit; we didn't get out without spending well over £150!  My brother-in-law (whose birthday it is today) is currently cooking a curry before we head off to meet some nieces and nephews later for a drink.  Home again tomorrow.
