Sunshine and wind

A arrived as we were having coffee after breakfast and immediately started on the third bedroom. By the time he left this afternoon the light fittings had been removed, all the holes and cracks had been filled and sanded and the undercoat had been applied to ceiling, walls and wardrobe doors.

We went out to buy some screws and washers and a strimmer for me to use around the garden, but as soon as we arrived back home MrMacD had to go back out to pick up some paint that A had ordered - he gets a discount and doesn’t add on a margin, which is very good.

After lunch we hopped on our bikes dropped a roller blind into St John’s op shop, dropped some empty containers into the collection point, posted some birthday cards and went for a ride out to the Blue Penguin Colony and back.  Although the sun was shining there was a very cold wind.

Back home we both spent time in the garden - MrMacD pulling out weeds while I pick broad beans, four raspberries (!), a courgette, and an apple to taste if it was anywhere near ready.  We decided that it’s not too far off.  MrMacD also picked more pears to sit in the shed for a couple of weeks and put the first pick into the fridge.

I took a photo of some rowing skiffs in the harbour.  It looked as though the crews weren’t terribly enthusiastic about going out.
