Uneven Surfaces & Slippery When Wet

I ignore the warning.
(Should know better!)
Suddenly I'm SLIPPING
and much much
WETTER!

I'm in DEEP WATER.
Sinking. Drowning?
I'm definitely
out of my
comfort zone when

MIRACULOUSLY
I burst forth and enter
yours. You're in your lounge,
laptop on your knee,
working on your family tree.

I'm sitting on your sofa.
It's comfy but soaking wet.
So is your carpet. So am I.
But you're terribly polite and say
'Would you like a cup of tea?'

Your tea, and your presence,
are a source of comfort. Plus
there's cake. Lemon Drizzle.
'Well,' I say, 'you'll never guess
what happened to me.'
