I was in my study looking out the window at the bees buzzing around this bush. I tried to take a couple of photos through the window but there was nothing for it; I had to get out there. Bees are funny creatures - they definitely should not be able to fly but they do in their characteristic lurching manner (the manner that makes it very difficult to photograph them). This bush has grown very well over the past few years. It was planted by the wall and has grown up and spills across my window now.

Out there watching the bees this evening I realise now why we chose this bush: to serve the bees. What greater purpose?
