I knew that today was going to be good weather - sadly, it is the only day this week - when it was going to be sunny with blue skies, so I planned to go photograph the short eared owls today. Following on from my last visit to photograph them, when we never saw a single owl, I was convinced that today was the day as the weather conditions were just right. I invited another member from my camera club to join me and was really looking forward to the outing. Then last night just before going to bed he sent me a message to say he had just found out that the fields were flooded, with water levels above welly height, so we could not go. I was so disappointed! Apparently many photographers attempted to go on the weekend but could not get to the fields due to high water levels, and I saw some photos of the fields and they were not exaggerating.
So instead of photographing owls, I had my usual boring day. On a positive note the weather was indeed glorious, with white spring blossoms on all the Hawthorn around here, daffodils up everywhere, and it was chilly, it is looking like spring.
Xena got two walks - the first one this morning I had to photograph the pond which I have photographed many times before, but today I loved the symmetry of the clouds and that blue sky had to be enjoyed as it will be grey again from tomorrow....On her second walk we enjoyed seeing all the white blossom and I did take many photos, but with a slight breeze the blossom does tend to wave around, so it is hard to achieve perfect focus while using a macro lens on a full frame camera.
I must get supper sorted now as I have a zoom lecture tonight for our camera club meeting, I am looking forward to it as it is on impressionist landscape photography.
