First flight

We have a house martin's next underneath a roof overhang and there was much unusual activity around there this evening. I'd long given up the possibility of blipping them They move too fast and the nest is in a dark corner.

It soon became apparent what was causing all the noise. This evening was the time for the young to leave the nest. This one was clinging on for dear life making alarming chirpy noises which might have translated to 'You must be joking!!'

As it clung on, one of the parents swooped down and tried to dislodge the young one from its precarious perch. When it succeeded the young undertook a short flight and came back to hang on again. Eventually it flew off without the 'encouragement' of the parent.

A bit blurry but it was a nice moment to capture.

PS This was not the intended 300th blip. That was to be a hanging basket of flowers. For you and all the stopping by and commenting which has helped me get to this point. And the inspiration from your own blips. I never imagined it would be like this. Thank you. On to 365!
