The return of brightness and warmth (albeit fleeting) is most welcome.

Everyone has their own benchmarks, and there's been much social media whinging about how long January felt,but for me. I love a winter day in the hills. Preferably a decent snow covering accompanied by a frosty day, blue sky,  sharp cold. 

This year I can't remember a single day when I had pang to be out in the mountains. (It'll return, for sure.  I have plans for expeditions, but not just yet!)
