Not...

... a holy well probably but nice to be invited out to have a look.  A very posh wellhouse albeit covered in ivy and brambles yes, I had my secateurs and full of somewhat leaf -ridden water but a look on the old maps informs that it's been there since at least 1890.  It's on the estate of this rather nice old house, built 1829 yes I've been doing my homework and part of the estate of Lord Bandon. Our former house sitter H is currently in charge and invited us to check out the well. What a lovely place but she has her hands full with two dogs, two ponies, a donkey and various chickens and geese. 
Off out for pancakes shortly and then an interesting talk on megalithic monuments in West Cork. Torrential rain is forecast for later tonight but hopefully we shall be home before the deluge. Catch you later.
