Sad

Deeply saddened to hear of the sudden and shocking passing of DJ Steve Wright.  I started listening to him in the 1970s in Reading.  Saturday lunchtime and Sunday mornings won't be the same.  Too young.

It's been a bleak day today.  Damp and chilly.

Also sad to learn about the Body Shop.  I recall the Body Shop first opening in 'Smelly Alley' in Reading town centre.  We called it Smelly Alley because of a fishmonger which always gave off a stink.  

The Body Shop ethos of refilling and reusing their bottles of soap, shampoo and hair conditioner was ahead of its time.  Anita Roddick was a genius.  Selling to l'Oreal and presumably other companies after Anita's death which didn't share her vision spelt the demise of the company.  It's worth noting that refill shops are springing up in every town.  Perhaps the Body Shop should have retained that practice.

It's sad when a person who brought joy in this troubled world passes.  RIP Steve Wright.
