The Shard

I tried to photograph this back in January, but with just a compact camera. This works better, I think. It was interesting to walk up the Thames on the opposite side from the building, observing how much it dominates the landscape and interacts with other buildings, many of which are themselves pretty substantial. Its presence in the view from Tower Bridge is particularly strong. Even flying over the city on the approach to Heathrow, the Shard is a powerful feature. On my walk, I ended up almost where I had started, on London Bridge.
